A hist\u00f3ria da arte sul-americana \u00e9 ensinada e estudada, quase sempre, em termos de fronteiras nacionais; escolher a Amaz\u00f4nia como foco de pesquisa enfatiza a necessidade de conectar nossos pa\u00edses enquanto uma regi\u00e3o compartida, repensando modos localistas de ensino. Nosso projeto \u00e9 integralmente financiado pela iniciativa&nbsp;<em>Connecting Art Histories<\/em>, da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Getty.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Amaz\u00f4nia faz fronteira com os tr\u00eas pa\u00edses que participam do projeto &#8211; Brasil, Col\u00f4mbia e Equador &#8211; mas \u00e9 tamb\u00e9m um espa\u00e7o fluido que conecta a regi\u00e3o. Ao ressaltar interc\u00e2mbios art\u00edstico-culturais, converg\u00eancias e confrontos, assim como a mobilidade e circula\u00e7\u00e3o de artistas, t\u00e9cnicas, objetos art\u00edsticos e materiais, um estudo sustent\u00e1vel da Amaz\u00f4nia aparta-se de grandes centros art\u00edsticos e suas narrativas nacionais a favor de uma nova forma de interpretar a arte produzida na Am\u00e9rica Latina.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dessa maneira, colocamos em primeiro plano a ruralidade, assim como locais, objetos art\u00edsticos e hibridismos que foram, com frequ\u00eancia, marginalizados. Este projeto ganha particular relev\u00e2ncia, na contemporaneidade, face \u00e0s amea\u00e7as que um crescente extrativismo coloca ao meio-ambiente e aos povos origin\u00e1rios da floresta amaz\u00f4nica.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O projeto organiza-se em dois semin\u00e1rios, os quais t\u00eam, cada um, a dura\u00e7\u00e3o de um ano. As atividades do primeiro ano, centrado no Equador, iniciaram-se em agosto de 2023 e ser\u00e3o completadas em julho de 2024. O segundo ano ter\u00e1 como base Bel\u00e9m do Par\u00e1, iniciando suas atividades em agosto de 2024 e terminado em julho de 2025. Os semin\u00e1rios incluem reuni\u00f5es e palestras remotas mensais, assim como uma viagem de campo por ano.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No primeiro ano, membros da equipe e um grupo selecionado de jovens pesquisadores e pesquisadoras provenientes do Brasil, Col\u00f4mbia, Equador e Peru realizaram uma viagem imersiva de \u00f4nibus e canoa atrav\u00e9s da Amaz\u00f4nia equatoriana, onde visitaram, entre outros locais, o&nbsp;Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico y Centro Cultural de Orellana,&nbsp;&nbsp;a Fundaci\u00f3n Sacha Warmi e o ateli\u00ea artesanal de Macas. O grupo tamb\u00e9m alojou-se na Casa Kichwa da comunidade de Sarayaku, no rio Bobonaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os posts reunidos neste blog re\u00fanem algumas experi\u00eancias coletadas ao longo desta viagem e refletem sobre as formas pelas quais essas experi\u00eancias conectam-se aos projetos individuais dos participantes.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00f3s nos conhecemos em 2010 e, desde ent\u00e3o, colaboramos em diversos projetos. Fomos apresentadas umas \u00e0s outras pelo falecido historiador da arte estadunidense Rick Asher, que havia concebido a ideia de criar reuni\u00f5es pequenas, de portas fechadas, imediatamente antes dos grandes encontros anuais promovidos pela CAA (College Art Association, dos Estados Unidos). Essas pr\u00e9-confer\u00eancias, as quais reuniam pesquisadoras e pesquisadores vivendo em pa\u00edses nos quais a hist\u00f3ria da arte \u00e9 considerada uma disciplina emergente, visavam discutir colabora\u00e7\u00f5es sul-sul tanto no plano individual quanto institucional, assim como partilhar as dificuldades e desafios de trabalhar, em nosso campo, em zonas menos privilegiadas do mundo. N\u00f3s tr\u00eas participamos no piloto dessas pr\u00e9-confer\u00eancias, as quais foram generosamente financiadas pela Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Getty e que existem at\u00e9 hoje.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participamos, ainda, em um projeto anterior financiado pela Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Getty &#8211; &#8220;Desdobrando a Hist\u00f3ria da Arte na Am\u00e9rica Latina&#8221; &#8211; o qual nos levou ao Rio, Buenos Aires, Cidade do M\u00e9xico e Quito entre 2012 e 2015. Outras colabora\u00e7\u00f5es e parcerias incluem, entre outras, a confer\u00eancia&nbsp;&#8220;The Italian Renaissance as seen from Latin America&#8221;, financiada pela Villa I Tatti &#8211; the&nbsp;Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies e sediada na&nbsp;Universidad de Los Andes in 2012; &#8220;Spolia Sancta: Fragmentos y envolturas de sacralidad entre el Viejo y el Nuevo Mundo&#8221;, um projeto colaborativo sediado na Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid entre 2016 and 2019, assim como dois semin\u00e1rios financiados pela Villa I Tatti em Floren\u00e7a e diversas publica\u00e7\u00f5es colaborativas, entre as quais, mais recentemente, o livro&nbsp;<em>Sacrifice and Conversion in the Early Modern Atlantic World<\/em>&nbsp;(Officina Libraria \/ Harvard University Press, 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trabalhamos no campo da hist\u00f3ria da arte e da cultura entre Europa e as Am\u00e9ricas durante a primeira modernidade. Somos educadoras profundamente comprometidas com o fortalecimento de colabora\u00e7\u00f5es sul-sul que possam criar e sustentar o interc\u00e2mbio acad\u00eamico entre jovens pesquisadoras e pesquisadores na nossa regi\u00e3o.
