Tanto el \u201cMundo Mediterr\u00e1neo” como el \u201cAtl\u00e1ntico\u201d han sido identificados como esferas geogr\u00e1ficas y culturales de car\u00e1cter supranacionales donde varias tradiciones se entremezclan y mutuamente se transforman de manera din\u00e1mica. En contraposici\u00f3n, desde la modernidad temprana la Amazon\u00eda ha sido un espacio intercultural de car\u00e1cter global que hasta el momento ha recibido poca atenci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica. Este seminario busca resaltar la diversidad cultural de la regi\u00f3n durante los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII, para insistir en la importancia de la cuenca amaz\u00f3nica como un sitio de innovaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica. Si bien se reconocen las violentas y desiguales relaciones de poder que caracterizaron el per\u00edodo colonial, el proyecto busca recalcar la importancia de las im\u00e1genes y objetos que se produjeron en la convergencia de m\u00faltiples tradiciones culturales, tanto locales como importadas. Al destacar la fluidez geogr\u00e1fica y la interconexi\u00f3n cultural, el proyecto tiene como objetivo estudiar la regi\u00f3n m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las fronteras pol\u00edticas y las barreras ling\u00fc\u00edsticas, como un lugar de encuentro para los acad\u00e9micos sudamericanos cuyos pa\u00edses est\u00e1n unidos por el r\u00edo Amazonas y sus afluentes. Desde una perspectiva hist\u00f3rica, este proyecto re\u00fane a 18 estudiantes de postgrado, especialistas, y comunidades locales, para estudiar la Amazon\u00eda de forma colectiva como el prop\u00f3sito de intercambiar saber e ideas mientras se construye una red regional.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
